    How do I check a downloaded file?

    Add the file here and compare the SHA-256 value with the one the publisher shows. If they are identical, the file is intact.

    Is MD5 safe?

    MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for checking that a file was not damaged, but not for security. Use SHA-256 or SHA-512 for that.

    Is my file uploaded?

    No. The hashes are calculated in your browser.
